Christine Clancy

Before working at Leading Teams, I was a sole trader for 20 years facilitating and coaching in the Leadership and culture space, working across teams and organisations from a wide variety of industries. I joined Leading Teams in early 2019 and while I enjoyed the challenge of running my own business, have thrived while being part of a team again.

How would you like to be described by your family, friends, and clients?

I would like to be described as passionate, empathetic, and courageous.
Passionate because when people are passionate it means they believe in what they are saying, and I think that is important if you want people to listen.
Empathetic because everyone has a story and we can all learn from it.
Courageous because I never want fear to stop me from doing anything, that is where the learning is on the journey.

What is your favourite piece of leadership advice, or quote?

‘You don’t manifest what you want, you manifest what you believe’ .
I remember hearing this for the first time in my early 20’s and not really understanding it then but I was very curious. Over the years I realised the more I focus on what I believe the more authentic I become and the more I connected to people on a deeper level.

What does success look like with a client?

From the client’s perspective, success means we have solved their problem. From our perspective it means that the team has a clear purpose, has strong relationships, and has fully bought into their agreed behaviours. This means they are having genuine conversations about rewarding and challenging each other and processes, and therefore they are seeing improved outcomes.

Tell us about your culture and leadership experience?

I have a diverse background, having worked as a coach, trainer, facilitator, and consultant for over 20 years. I have had the privilege to work under some great leaders and the qualities that stood out with them are great listening skills, being transparent with all communication, empathetic and also the ability to tell a story around the WHY. Great leaders create a safe environment for people to feel comfortable to share with no judgement.
