I come from a background in professional sport as an Assistant Coach in the NRL at the Brisbane Broncos, the Gold Coast Titans, and the New Zealand Warriors as well as prior to that being the Head Coach of the Brisbane Broncos National Under 20’s team and going back before that held numerous Head Coaching and Assistant Coaching positions in the second tier Queensland Cup competition. During this time, I not only had the opportunity to Lead the staff and players as a Coach I was also fortunate to work with and observe many other Coaches, other staff members that were leaders of departments and many experienced and varied leadership styles from experienced and representative quality players.

How would you like to be described by your family, friends, and clients?

Very level, reliable and trustworthy, caring and confidence builder

What is your favourite piece of leadership advice, or quote?

‘Today we do what others won’t, so tomorrow we do what others can’t.’
This is a quote I have heard many times over the years and although I am not sure of its origin, I really like the message that we will put in the work together each day that others might not be willing to do so down the track we can achieve things together that others just won’t have done the work to achieve. Success doesn’t start the day you want it, it’s built every day in your behaviours and actions.

What does success look like with a client?

Success to me is that the teams I am working with have a really clear belief of who they are, what they stand for, and those beliefs can be seen in their daily behaviours and interactions in pursuit of their common goal. That an environment of challenge and reward has been created.

Tell us about your culture and leadership experience?

I have had the last 20 years in professional and semi-professional sport and have had a ringside seat to what great culture and leadership looks like and experienced what poor culture and leadership looks like and have taken great learnings from all these experiences.
