Aaron Rogers

Aaron’s passion has always been in helping people and teams be at their best, particularly in the leadership and team development space.

Aaron draws on vast experience across multiple elite sporting environments such as Sydney Swans and more recently, Gold Coast SUNS as well as a career in the property industry working for national companies such as Peet Limited & Mortgage Choice. Through this experience, Aaron has been able to form a very strong philosophy around leadership and cultural dynamics for high performing teams – in any industry.

Aaron first encountered Leading Teams while playing at the Sydney Swans in the early 2000s. Aaron had an AFL career spanning across Melbourne Demons, Sydney Swans and various state league clubs, and Leading Teams was a constant throughout.

He later joined the Gold Coast Suns as Development Coach where Aaron played a critical role in the Leadership development and behavioural change of young AFL players.

“It was fascinating being able to experience different elite sporting environments. Each team had very different dynamics and to be able to view how each team worked together to achieve a similar outcome certainly helped me form views on the impact of leaders modelling behaviour & their strong professional relationships has on culture”

Aaron’s corporate career commenced after he completed a Bachelor of Business (Property) which was utilised in his Property Development career as a Development Manager with ASX Listed Peet Limited, before becoming a professional football coach. This experience provided Aaron with a well-rounded understanding of high-performance leadership and culture in a corporate environment.

“It was a really interesting stepping out of an elite sporting environment as a player, into a corporate environment and then back into elite sport as a coach. It quickly became clear to me that the same principles apply to any given team; that in order to be truly high performing, you must give time to developing your cultural dynamics in a purposeful and meaningful matter.

I was thrilled when I was offered the opportunity to work with Leading Teams in Queensland. I have used the Leading Teams approach in my own management style and am excited to share my experiences with clients.”
