We are pleased to announce that Lisa Alexander has joined Leading Teams in the role of High Performance Expert. Lisa’s experience, both as a leader and working with us in the past, makes her uniquely suited to this newly created role, as Leading Teams continues to grow and increase its presence around Australia. Lisa brings to the role extensive knowledge on leadership and team culture, with the aim of creating a better understanding in the wider community of how culture drives team performance.
Lisa joins us after her incredibly successful stint as Head Coach of the Australian Diamonds national women’s netball team. There, Lisa led and supported a high performance culture that saw players as people first, and where the culture of ‘Sisters in Arms’ was revered by players, past and present. With this strong culture in place, the Diamonds went on to win 81% of their matches during Lisa’s tenure as coach, making the team one of the most successful international sporting teams in the world. Lisa was recognised as the AIS Sport Performance Awards Coach of the Year in 2014, and she is currently a Victorian Institute of Sport Board Member.
Ray McLean, co-founder of Leading Teams, worked with Lisa and the Diamonds throughout her tenure as Head Coach. This means that Lisa brings a wealth of experience in working with Leading Teams, and a clear understanding of how our framework for creating high performance cultures is put into practice.
Lisa’s leadership experience extends beyond elite sport, with her career beginning as a teacher and leading her to a position on the Board of Education in Victoria. Lisa’s passion for education and the role it plays in our community continues to shine through.
“I am so pleased to be joining Leading Teams after many years of working with them as a client. I have seen first-hand the power of focusing on team culture, of how, when we have strong trust in each other as teammates, and when we commit to living our values, success follows. I look forward to supporting our clients on their journeys of improvement, either as teams or as individual leaders.”
Lisa Alexander.
“We are delighted to have a leader of Lisa’s caliber joining our team. Lisa’s leadership experience will be an asset to our clients, but also to our own team. Her ability to share and reflect on leadership experiences, both rewarding and challenging, makes her the perfect fit for our team.”
Justin Peckett, Chairman of Leading Teams.
