Brisbane City Council

As Australia’s largest local government authority, Brisbane City Council didn’t wait until a crisis hit to build a strong culture. Executive leader Tash Tobias had partnered with Leading Teams to invest in their people and culture during ‘peacetime’.

Working with their Leading Teams facilitator, they focused on surfacing unspoken challenges, improving clarity, and creating genuine relationships built on trust. When the 2022 floods hit Brisbane, their preparation and their relationships were tested – and proven.

Results:

  • Leadership team cohesion and clarity strengthened
  • Divisions collaborated more effectively under pressure
  • Cross-department trust improved
  • Response to the 2022 floods marked by resilience and unity
