Aaron Rogers

I began my 15+ year relationship with Leading Teams as a member of the Sydney Swans ‘Bloods’ culture in 2004. Since then, I have been able to draw on vast experience across multiple elite sporting environments such as Sydney Swans and Melbourne Demons as an athlete and more recently, the Gold Coast SUNS as a coach. Prior to coaching, I also had a professional career in the property sector after completing a Bachelor of Business (Property) and worked for national companies such as Peet Limited & Mortgage Choice.

Present, Adventurous, Reliable

What is your favourite piece of leadership advice, or quote?

‘Those that are most invested, are last to surrender.’

What does success look like with a client?

Success looks like when there is genuine buy-in from the whole team to their common purpose, a clear understanding of their expectations of each other and deep levels of trust and respect have been created. The team is having robust conversations and helping the team, and each other to be the best they can be.

Tell us about your culture and leadership experience?

My first experience with Leading Teams was at the Sydney Swans as a participant and the programs simplicity and effectiveness was unlike anything I had seen or did see again. I was then able to introduce the program to the teams I played or coached after that as the program had a significant impact not just on our team, but on me as an individual. I was lucky enough to have multiple leadership roles in my playing career which eventually led to being Head Coach for the Morningside Panthers in the Queensland State League. Following this I was privileged with the role of developing and leading the culture and leadership program of the 1-4 year players at the Gold Coast SUNS. I am also an owner and leader of small business of 15 staff team.
