“I have always seen myself as a builder of people in my leadership roles. For me, caring and support are the most critical components to having success with a team. Winning looks after itself if everyone feels like they are valued and have influence on the team’s performance, whether that’s kicking goals or running the water. This belief and influence comes from knowing the direction of the team and the agreed behaviours. Challenging people to be the best they can be and then supporting them with their own personal plans is definitely a recipe for success. I have always wanted my players to be good citizens. The Leading Teams model does all of this in a safe but challenging environment and is why I feel so aligned to their way of thinking.”
